Deceased Name: Sophie G. Kaner

Sophie G. Kaner, 91, passed away Saturday January 22, 2011, at St. Luke's hospital. She was born May 28, 1919, to Max and Beatrice Gordon in Duluth.

Sophie married Sidney Kaner, and they were married until his death in 1991. She was a member of Adas Israel Synagogue.

Sophie is survived by her son, Robert Kaner; nephews Dr. Benjie Goldfarb, Michael Horowitz, niece Ozzie Nogg and their families; special friend Byron Lurye and his extended family; and close friend Shirley Stockman. The family would like to thank Cindy Turnquist for her care and friendship.

Private family services will be held. A reception in Sophie's honor will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at the Pickwick Restaurant, 508 E. Superior St., Duluth. Please leave a memory of Sophie or words of support for the family at www.bellbrothersjarvidowd.com.
